Rodney Boyd started Hatch in 2004 based in Sydney, Australia. Having previously worked extensively as a management consultant in Australia and overseas, covering a broad range of industries from financial services, to retail, healthcare and the automotive industry.
Initially Hatch was a boutique management consulting practice with a focus on strategy, technology and marketing channels. However, while consulting we often observed clients struggle with software that was not built for the purpose it was being used for. With many clients in the franchising sector we saw them struggle with managing information, and operations, across broad geographic areas. Unfortunately many of the ‘enterprise’ solutions were simply too expensive for medium sized businesses, and well out of reach for small business.
We realised there had to be a better way. With the increasing influence of the web and cloud based solutions we refocused the business, acquired new skills, and formed Hatchit Software Solutions. Our aim was simple; develop high quality software; make it entirely web-based for easy access; keep our products honestly priced and provide great customer service. Lastly we wanted to have fun while doing it. Today we have clients covering Australia and four other continents. We have three main products, FranchiZeManager, BuildManager and FranchiZeDeveloper, which we will be launching soon. Plus we also provide custom or bespoke solutions for larger clients. We remain privately funded and profitable.
